The
palm cross is carved out of walnut wood to fit the contour of the hand. It is
often used during personal prayer or the reading of God's word as a tangible
symbol of God's presence that can instill a calming sense of comfort and peace,
encouragement and endurance. Some will say the palm cross is like holding God's
hand in prayer.
There
is no stain or permanent finish on the wood. This allows the oils from your
hands to absorb into the wood grain. When you lift up a loved one in prayer
while holding it, your oils penetrate the cross, and you become one with it.
When you give the cross away, you are then giving part of yourself as a symbol
of love and support.
